World Water Day is a day celebrated on 22 March each year. It was declared in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly. ‘World Water Day’, which was first proposed at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in 1992, was created in order to draw attention to the growing clean water problem of both UN members and other world countries, and to dedicate a day to this name in order to encourage concrete steps to be taken to protect and increase potable water resources.
