Director's Message

The Ornithology Application and Research Centre is a research unit whose main focus is on critical issues such as bird conservation, monitoring and habitat sustainability.

Ornithology Application and Research Center (ORNITHOCEN) was officially established on 06 April 2018, as announced in the Official Gazette numbered 30383, and began its activities within the Main Campus of our University. The primary aim of the Center is to emphasize its commitment to the richness of natural life and to the field of ornithology, while also taking on a leading role in this area. Since its inception, ORNIHOCEN has embraced a mission of guiding studies—particularly within the fields of Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture, Hunting, and Wildlife—by effectively utilizing up-to-date knowledge and literature. The Center is dedicated to contributing not only to its internal staff but also to the entire university community and individuals across the country. Its institutional vision is to serve as a significant resource center in the field of biodiversity, both at the university level and across Turkey..

Iğdır University Ornithology Application and Research Center aims to raise awareness about the biodiversity of birds and the importance of their habitats, ensure their sustainable use through conservation, and provide consultancy to relevant public and private institutions.
